The Dream About Midsummer

The Dream About Midsummer

The Dream About Midsummer focuses on the similarities between the creative process behind dance and design. In both of these practices, the result is something you express out from what you feel or believe in. A certain mood, influence or input.

“Minor Flaws is a collection of individual objects in glass and brass, beautifully flawed and unique in their appearance. Our own natural flaws are rarely desirable and often concealed from the outside world. Sometimes we force ourselves into an image that is uncomfortable in the belief that it might make us more beautiful.”

“Paper basket is a storage product made out of recycled paper and is produced in a handmade molding press. After examining the properties of the material, I discovered that when you wet the paper it softens the bers in a way that it makes the sheet capable of compression molding without breaking.”

“I find my inspiration in the past, the fading and cracked. Worn facades are very fascinating.”

“The Else Coral and Mose collections represent a new approach towards surfaces and shapes. These collections of vases are created with a special technique where the final shape is perfectly defined by the own mass and weight of a liquid material. Original models shapes are made by casting liquid porcelain into a hollowed block of foam, letting the weight of the liquid material insert itself into the pores of the foam. This way of casting creates organic shapes that arise depending on physics rather than on pre-designed decisions.”

Dressed in Clay — Candle Holder — by Kajsa Willner

“Dressed in clay is a series of nostalgic objects with inspiration from natural shapes in the nature preserve in the little seaside village where I grew up. I have always been inspired by the mystical trees there and their ability to adapt and survive even in the harshest of surroundings, away from their natural environment, shaped after years and years surviving the salty winds from the sea.”
