Travelling Through Time: Collisions by Ziggy Chen
The main source of inspiration for Ziggy Chen's collection has always been Shanghai in the late 19th to the early 20th century, where the extreme collision of East and West occurred – objects and people from different countries and backgrounds come together in one city to build one that is filled with cultural and visual contrasts.
This series of visual experiment entitled "ENCOUNTER" conveys the ephemeral atmosphere that comes into being when various things collide with each other. The intention was to introduce the story behind the garments using a different medium such as photographs and collages, rather than just a garment itself.
In the latest story, the character travels through time and space, wanders between dream and reality, in search of who he is.
