Joanna Laajisto's ARISTO series
Joanna Laajisto's Aristo series was originally designed for the bed & breakfast, Villa Aristo, located in the picturesque Turku Archipelago. Studio Joanna Laajisto has designed the interior of the villa that will open its doors in the summer 2018. The B&B celebrates the old Scandinavian villa culture and the carefree way that the upper class used to spend their summer holidays.
The Aristo collection's furnishings are multifunctional - they can be used as a side table, stool and a bench. The natural ash accents the beautiful features of the wood. In addition to the light wood the other colour option is stained black, which highlights the shape of the product, representative to Laajisto’s work. "A good product has to fit in different environments from the modern and minimalist to rich and classical," explains Laajisto. The simple and modest design language of the Aristo furniture emphasizes the asymmetric shape of the foot structure. In the future the series will be expanded with new products following the same design principles.
The Aristo series is part of the Made by Choice collection and is available since February 2018 onwards. Made by Choice is a Scandinavian design company specializing in wood furniture. The products are developed and manufactured in their own factory in Finland by some of the best craftsmen in the world.
